WHO WE ARE
The power of our community is fueled by ERM professionals from a wide range of industries and disciplinary backgrounds.
Our members are ERM leaders (Risk Practitioners, Chief Risk Officers, and other Executives) who wish to improve their organization’s capabilities to navigate the risks in their business environment. Our members support their organizations to apply an effective risk lens to strategic decision-making.
SERMP members demonstrate their commitment to elevating the practice of ERM in a variety of ways, including:
Joining the Society by registering and paying the $150 annual membership fee,
Participating in SERMP events to expand their peer network and learn from leading thinkers about ideas, approaches and tools they can apply to enhance risk management at their organization, and
Volunteering to ‘roll up their sleeves’ to shape and build the Society by signing up to serve on a committee of the Leaders Council , i.e.:

For the $150 annual membership fee, members of the Society for ERM Professionals (SERMP) receive:
Networking and Mentorship Opportunities - The SERMP community is welcoming to ERM professionals at every stage of their professional development. Our events foster comradery, sharing of best practices and knowledge and experiences, as well as mentoring.
Exposure to leading thinkers in the fields of enterprise risk management and other disciplines that support decision-making under uncertainty and risk. We bring you best practices and practical tools and techniques you can apply immediately.
Educational resources - Members can access recordings of SERMP events through the Members portal.
Preferential access & rates on the Society’s events
Job Board where members can contribute to or peruse our curated list of enterprise risk positions that are open in Canada.
COMING SOON: Since the Society was incorporated as a not-for-profit in August 2026, SERMP’s Leaders Council is focusing its attention on expanding the benefits the Society offers to its members. For example we are considering adding more educational resources, an online member directory, a discussion board, an annual salary survey, more frequent events in more cities, and more. We invite our members to weigh in on which benefits they would find most valuable.
ANNUAL FEE
The annual membership fee of $150 helps to offset the cost of the Society’s activities that support ERM professionals to expand their peer network and increase their knowledge and skills.
